Marinas.com has notified the City of Paducah that Paducah’s Transient Boat Dock is a recipient of the 2023 Boaters’ Choice Award. This is the seventh consecutive year for Paducah to receive the award which honors marinas and docks that consistently provide an excellent home for the boating community and received the most praise throughout the year from boaters.
Mayor George Bray said, “I am pleased that for seven consecutive years, Paducah’s dock has received positive feedback from the boating community. Paducah is an important stop for many boaters as they explore the inland waterways, and we strive to make sure that each boater has a safe and enjoyable stay. Receiving this feedback from boaters about the dock and about our community is critical as we look to enhance the Paducah riverfront and take full advantage of the river assets that exist here.”
Parks & Recreation Department Director Amie Clark said, “We are thrilled to welcome boaters to our river town, whether they are here for the first time or a returning visitor. The City works hard to create an environment and an experience that keeps travelers coming back each year. The Parks & Recreation Department appreciates the feedback our boaters provide, and we look for opportunities to keep improving so that we can continue to provide a great place to visit.”
The Boaters’ Choice Award is based on reviews by boaters. To be recognized, each facility had to receive at least three reviews. Plus, the average of all reviews must equal a rating of four or more stars out of five stars.
In 2023, Paducah's Dock had 461 reservations with boaters spending a total of 607 night.
Below are a few of the five-star reviews posted by boaters who enjoyed Paducah’s amenities in 2023.
- Excellent facility and friendly people. Will definitely come back.
- This is a very nice well-built dock; good directions on approach and the booking site; excellent communications and responses through email and Dockwa. Very quiet.
- Nice facility. Really close to town. Easy docking and fueling. Need 36 hours to explore Paducah properly.
- Museum was great and murals are worth the stop alone. Town and shops very interesting.
- Wonderful city to explore! Floating docks are in great shape with nice lookout places as you walk up to the town.
- Probably the nicest municipal docks we’ve ever been to. Paducah has great pride in their waterfront and the municipal transient docks reflect that.
- The dock is on the river and everything that comes by leaves a wake, but after three long days in the rain, it was great to have a dock to tie to. The city people were great about making us welcome and finding space for us. The location is within easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping. It was a welcome stop.
Paducah’s 340-foot long boat dock is located downstream from the heart of historic downtown Paducah and provides space for boaters to enjoy Paducah by spending a few hours or several nights. Amenities include fuel (diesel and marine grade gasoline) and power pedestals. The availability of water and the sewer pumpout station is seasonal with both of those amenities currently drained and winterized to prevent the freezing of pipes.
According to its website, Marinas.com provides boaters with comprehensive information on more than 75,000 marinas, anchorages, and marine locations.
