List of 22 Businesses in Third Funding Round
City Manager Jim Arndt says, “I have lived in Paducah now for two years. One of the most amazing aspects of this community is the generosity of its citizens and businesses.”
“I applaud the Paducah Board of Commissioners for approving $150,000 to start this program with an additional $100,000 for matching funds. So far, the community has raised $72,000 in funds that are being matched dollar for dollar by the City. I encourage this generous community to continue to donate to the program so that we can provide a fourth round of funding. Even though many businesses have been able to reopen on a limited basis, the COVID-19 pandemic has created financial instability that will take quite a while to overcome. This assistance may be what a business needs to keep its doors open.”
Small for-profit businesses, that are not a franchise or franchise-affiliated, with 25 or fewer employees and a brick-and-mortar presence within the Paducah city limits were eligible to apply for the funds in early April. The funds must be used for expenses limited to rent, mortgage, payroll, and utilities with required documentation to prove the expenditures provided to the City of Paducah by September 1, 2020. Including this round of funding, a total of 147 businesses have been assisted. The first round of funding was distributed April 24 with the second round on May 15.
